MOMS Club History
Our club is an affiliate of the International MOMS Club, which has 2,000 chapters and 100,000 members in 8 countries. The International MOMS Club was founded in 1983 in California by a stay-at-home mom who wanted to meet other stay-at-home moms and find playmates for her children.
Our club is a real entity. It is a not-for-profit corporation that was created to provide activities for moms, kids and families. We also conduct events and perform service projects to support moms, kids and families within our community.
The International MOMS Club was started in the fall of 1983 and became a national organization in 1985 and an international organization in 1996. The MOMS Club of Frankfort, IL was founded in April of 2008. Prior to early 2008, our members were part of the New Lenox and Mokena, IL chapter. When that chapter grew very large, it split into two sister chapters to better serve the mothers in the Lincoln-Way area.
